Hidden cameras, and cameras in general, have figured in interesting ways in a number of great movies.

It can probably be said about most of these that their true subject is cinema itself. Films which include the recording process within themselves seem to generally cast a critical or at least dubious eye on the idea of capturing truth through the lens. It is likely not accidental that murder or violence figures in all of these movies. The camera is linked either explicitly to violence or else violence is a natural link or outgrowth of photography itself.

There has also been a recent spate of films in which hidden or surveillance cameras play a role, and we shall be adding some further examples in the very near future.
